After Sajid Khan's exit, Farhad Samji to direct Housefull 4
The Indian film industry is witnessing a major revolution after the dawn of #MeToo movement. Following the #MeToo movement, the sexual allegations over Sajid Khan has led to his exit from Housefull 4. The film will now be directed by the Housefull 3 director Farhad Samji.
Confirming the news, Farhad Samji said to a leading entertainment portal, "Yes it is true". Elaborating more about the same, a source close to the project said, "In light of the recent disclosures and the pressure being put on those names, Sajid Khan was forced to step down as the director of Housefull 4. However, given the fact that since the film is already on floors, production budgets need to be kept in mind and of course the date and shoot schedule for the rest of the cast members as well. In view of these points, the producers of Housefull 4 decided to rope in Farhad Samji".
On being further queried about Farhad directing Housefull 4, the source added, "Farhad had earlier directed Housefull 3 and the film did meet with success at the box office. Given the fact that Farhad is already well versed with the Housefull franchise and the fact that he is capable of helming another one, it was a logical choice to rope him in for Housefull 4."
Presently, the ensemble cast of Housefull 4 includes, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Sharad Kelkar, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda and Kriti Sanon. Owing to the sexual harassment accusations leveled by Tanushree Dutta, Nana Patekar too has exited from Housefull 4. The makers will soon zero down on an actor to replace Nana Patekar. Housefull 4 is scheduled to release in October 2019.
