Bhayandar surgeon on-board international society

A Bhayandar-based surgeon, Dr Niranjan Agarwal has been appointed to the executive board representing southern Asia of the coveted International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ISUCRS) at a recently held meeting in London.

Founded in Mexico City in 1962, ISUCRS which has been an international society since its inception, continues to be represented in 80 countries and contributes to the field of colon and anorectal surgery by holding international meetings in order to share their scientific knowledge.

A consultant surgeon at Bombay Hospital, Dr Agarwal has been on the forefront to propagate the international standards of excellence in treatment of diseases of colon and the rectum in India. “A proposal for another global meeting on proctology has been approved by the society for India in 2019,” said Dr Agarwal, who was also the convener of the ISUCRS seminar held in 2016 which had registered the participation of the highest number medicos in this field.
