Pakistan batsman Shoaib Malik has finally broken his silence on the video going viral which shows him and other Pakistan stars enjoying shisha at the lounge just hours before the clash against India. Along with Malik, his wife and India tennis star Sania Mirza and cricketers Wahab Riaz and Imam-ul-Haq were also in the lounge.
Pakistani fans have busy slamming Malik and others for their attitude just hours before the huge clash. India thrashed the Men in Green by 89 rains (DLS method) to maintain their winning run against Pakistan in World Cup. Asked to bat first, India piled up a huge total of 336 for 5 in the stipulated 50 overs.

Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul laid the foundation for the big total by adding 136 runs for the first wicket before the latter departed for 57. It, however, did not bring any respite for Pakistan as Rohit found a brilliant partner in skipper Virat Kohli. The two added 98 runs before Rohit Sharma fell after playing a sublime knock of 140. Kohli went on to score 77 and guide India to the big total.
In reply, Pakistan lost opener Imam-ul-Haq (7) to the first-ever ball Vijay Shankar bowled in a World Cup but recovered well as Fakhar Zaman (62) and Babar Azam (48) shared a 104-run second-wicket stand. However, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed the set pair in consecutive overs before Hardik Pandya removed Mohammad Hafeez (9) and Shoaib Malik (0) off successive deliveries as Pakistan slipped from 117-1 to 129-5. Pakistan eventually huffed and puffed to 212 for 6.

And after the defeat, Pakistani fans have berated their players for their dismal performance. But amidst all these criticism, Malik has landed in hot water for going to shisha lounge just hours before the game. Some Pakistani fans claimed they saw Shoaib Malik smoking shisha at 2am at the lounge on Winslow Road in Manchester, while others were having junk food, including “burgers and pizzas”.
Well, Shoaib Malik has finally spoken on the mattered and has asked the media and others to not include his family in the entire episode.
“On behalf of all athletes I would like to request media and people to maintain respect levels in regards to our families, who should not be dragged into petty discussions at will. It’s not a nice thing to do,” Shoaib Malik wrote on Twitter.
