Interim CBI director reverses reversal transfer orders by Alok Verma

After resuming his post as CBI director, Verma nullified an order passed by Nageshwar Rao to transfer 13 officials. However, Nageshwar Rao has again reversed the order issued by Alok Verma.

Interim Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Nageshwar Rao on Friday (January 11) nullified reversal of transfers initiated by Alok Verma soon after he was ousted by a select committee.

Verma, who was reinstated by the Supreme Court after he was sent on forced government leave, was on Thursday (January 10) was removed from the position again within a span of 48 hours by the select committee led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After resuming his post as CBI director, Verma nullified an order passed by Nageshwar Rao to transfer 13 officials including the team which filed FIR against Rakesh Asthana.

However, Rao has again reversed Verma's order after he was again appointed as the CBI interim director until further notice.
