Blue Peter celebrates 60th birthday with former presenters including Konnie Huq, Anthea Turner and Richard Bacon in special episode
The Blue Peter studio was filled with presenters old and new to celebrate the show's 60th birthday.
Some of the biggest names in children's TV, including Konnie Huq, Valerie Singleton, Yvette Fielding and Helen Skelton, came together in the studio to try their hands at a classic "make" and recall some of their fondest memories.
Even former presenter Matt Baker sent over a message from The One Show's studio in London, while current presenter Lindsey Russell gave the coveted gold badge to Ed Sheeran .
In Matt's message, he said: "Hello, it's Blue Peter presenter no. 28.

"I'm presenting The One Show tonight so I'm so sorry I can't be there, but I just wanted to wish a very happy birthday to the best programme ever."
As well as the former presenters, including the first ever presenter, Leila Williams, the studio was full of musical guests including Jonas Blue, HRVY, The Vamps, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and child of former host Janet Ellis, Sophie Ellis Bextor.
Sophie was more than just a singing guest, as a short film of her on the show as a child revealed the cute kid wearing a snood with her mum.

The 60th anniversary also saw some of the former hosts help fill a new time capsule, including Katy Hill and Peter Purves, before pairs of old presenters tried their hand at a "make."
Valerie and Helen, as well as Anthea Turner and Tim Vincent all tried out making something in 30 second intervals, though they had to pick up from where their potential colleagues left off, without knowing what they were making.
Current presenter Radzi Chinyanganya also announced they would be bringing back the bring and buy sales of Blue Peter old, and they thanked their first ever editor Biddy Baxter and Manchester poet Tony Walsh, before seeing some classic challenges.

Blue Peter's Big Birthday is on BBC iPlayer after showing on Tuesday 16 October at 5pm.
