KPAC Lalitha hits back at criticism regarding her meeting with Dileep in jail

KPAC Lalitha in an interview with a daily has hit back at those who criticised her for meeting rape accused actor, Dileep in jail last year.

The veteran actress has reportedly said that Dileep was the one who supported her during difficult times and questioned if it was a mistake to visit a friend when he was in trouble.

Following her meeting, there was a wave of criticism from various factions of society and many others demanding that the state government oust her from her position as Chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy. Asking "what rights do these people have, to tell me not to meet a person who is like a son to me?" The actress further stated that it is her personal discretion to decide where to go and whom to meet.

The actress also revealed about the ordeal she faced from late legendary Malayalam comedian Adoor Bhasi. Lalitha said, though she complained about the incident to Chalachitra Parishith -the then actors' organisation's presiding member KP Ummer warned her asking 'Who are you to complain against Adoor Bhasi'?
