A historically important city, Lucknow was at the heart of North Indian culture for many centuries.

Historically, Lucknow was the capital of the Awadh region, controlled by the Delhi Sultanate and later the Mughal Empire. It was transferred to the Nawabs of Awadh.
In common with other metropolitan cities across India, Lucknow is a city of multi culture and home to people who use different dialects and languages. The city has a perfect combination of rich traditions.
