My son ended life after he was beaten by wife: Mother tells cops

However, on Thursday, Laghani’s mother, Kavita, lodged a complaint at Krishnanagar police station that his son was insulted and beaten up by his wife Amrita alias Anisha and her mother Kavita when he went to meet his 10-year-old son at their house at Sohrabji Compound in Vadaj.
“When asked about the reason behind delay in lodging an FIR, Dharmendra’s mother said they had gone to their native place for the last rites of Dharmendra and hence she could not lodged an FIR,” said investigation officer Nikhil Maru of Krishnanagar police station.
Dharmendra and Amrita had separated two year ago following frequent disputes between them. “Amrita had lodged a complaint of domestic violence against Dharmendra, a salesman with in a private company. Dharmendra was then arrested and released on bail on August 31.
According to the complaint lodged by Laghani’s mother, just after his son had gone out of his house on the evening of September 21, she was informed by a neighbour that Dharmendra has set himself on fire by pouring kerosene and was taken to a nearby hospital.
