Bollywood has taken Kiara Advani under its wings guaranteeing a career many would crave for. The actress who recently made headlines for her masturbation scene in Lust Stories celebrates her 26th birthday today. Born as Alia Advani, she changed her name to Kiara on the suggestions of none other than superstar Salman Khan. It wouldn’t be the first time that actors have gone masqueraded with their names to stand out in Bollywood. But what has Salman Khan to do with this young debutant? Apparently, Kiara is the niece of Salman’s first girlfriend, Shaheen Jaffrey. The actress mentioned in an interview, “My mom knew Salman sir as they grew up together in Bandra. He would often tell my mother Genievev Advani how one day he would be a star. They have been friends for the longest time and would go cycling together. She introduced my mausie Shaheen to him and Salman sir and Shaheen mausie dated each other long back. It may have possibly been their first relationship.”
Coming to her family background, Kiara’s parents Jagdeep Advani and Genevieve Jaffrey may not be a star family but they have individual relations that go way back in the Indian film industry. For instance, Kiara’s mom’s (Genevieve) stepmother was actor Ashok Kumar’s daughter, Bharti. Which makes Kiara, Ashok Kumar’s great-grand daughter! It doesn’t stop there, she is also the great-grandniece of yesteryear actor Saeed Jaffrey. Now that’s one hefty heritage.
Kiara is still an infant in Bollywood and has done only a handful of films. She started off with Fugly in 2014 and got a break in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, where she played the role of Dhoni’s wife Sakshi.
