3 senior citizens killed in accidents
Nashik: Three senior citizens lost their lives in separate road accidents in the past three days.In one incident, an 80-year-old woman, who was resting under a tree, was knocked down by a car that was taking a U-turn in the Punjab Colony area of Nashik Road around 1pm on Tuesday.The Upnagar police identified the victim as Shantabai Pakodia, a resident of Dhongade Mala on Datta Mandir Road. The car was going towards Punjab colony from the Upnagar Naka. While taking a U-turn near the garden, the car knocked down the woman.The residents of the area rushed the woman to a local hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead.Police have booked the car driver Sujit Vishwakarma (26) from Mumbai on the charges of causing death by negligence.Meanwhile, 68-year-old Chandrasen Fakira Shinde of Pathardi village, who was standing on the road side at Pathardi Gaon junction in the Indiranagar, lost his life when a speeding cab knocked him down on Monday around 7.15pm.The Indiranagar police said Shindes son Rahul has lodged complaint against the taxi driver, Raju Gaikwad , As Reported By TOI.
According to the Newspaper,Police arrested Shinde on Monday for causing death by negligence.Meanwhile, a 70-year-old woman was killed at Chandwad, 60km from here, on Wednesday around 10.30am. Jankabai Thombre of Chandwad was on her way to her sons shop, when she was knocked down by a speeding car. Police have booked the car driver for causing death by negligence..
