Akshit powers Jammu district to title win in U-14 Cricket

SAMBA, Sept 7: Promising youngster Akshit Gandral (Ansh) scored splendid 52 runs to help Jammu district to thrash Udhampur district by a huge margin and win tile trophy of Divisional Level Inter-District Under-14 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Arazi Sports Stadium, here today.
Earlier, put into bat, Jammu district scored a decent total of 121 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Akshit scored unbeaten fifty, while Aditya Abrol contributed valuable 30 runs.
In reply, Udhampur district bundled out for a paltry total of 32 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 89 runs. From Jammu district, Shavac was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 important wickets, while Adishwer Kotwal and Shivansh Sudan claimed one wicket each.
The Tournament was held under the overall supervision of Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Samba.
