dwarka expressway GURUGRAM: Residents of Gurugran met Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, requesting him to intervene and expedite construction of two phases of Dwarka Expressway on the Delhi side. More than 13,700 trees in the road’s alignment on Delhi side are holding up the construction of the expressway.Three residents, who are members of the Dwarka Expressway Welfare Association (DXPWA), also shared the status of the work in the Gurugram portion with Kejriwal. Speaking with TOI, they said that Kejriwal was supportive and requested the association to work with his government and administration to find solutions for issues holding up the project.They are scheduled to meet Delhi’s PWD minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday , As Reported By TOI.

According to the Newspaper,Komal Ahuja, vice president, DXPWA said, “After the demolition of farm houses coming in the alignment of Dwarka Expressway, we had hoped that work would progress at a rapid pace on the Delhi side. However, it seems the work is stuck because of a tussle between BJP and AAP.”On October 3, Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari met officials from the Delhi government and asked them to solve the issue pertaining to tree felling for this project.With Kejriwal assuring his help, residents are happy that they got a chance to speak with him. Prakhar Sahay, joint secretary, DXPWA, said, “Unlike the Haryana CM, the Delhi CM at least took out time to hear our grievance.
