dwarka expressway GURUGRAM: Residents of Gurugram met Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday about delay in construction of two phases of Dwarka Expressway on the Delhi side over the felling of 13,700 trees in its alignment, requesting him to intervene and resolve the issue at the earliest.Three residents, who are members of the Dwarka Expressway Welfare Association (DXPWA), also shared the status of the work in the Gurgaon portion with Kejriwal. Speaking with TOI, they said that Kejriwal was supportive and requested the association to work with his government to find solutions for issues holding up the project.They are scheduled to meet Delhi's PWD minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday. Komal Ahuja, vice president, DXPWA said, "After the demolition of farm houses coming in the alignment of Dwarka Expressway, we had hoped that work would progress at a rapid pace on the Delhi side , As Reported By TOI.

According to the Newspaper,However, it seems the work is stuck because of a tussle between BJP and AAP."On October 3, Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari met officials from the Delhi government and asked them to solve the issue pertaining to tree felling for this project.With Kejriwal assuring his help, residents are happy that they got a chance to speak with him. Prakhar Sahay, joint secretary, DXPWA, said, "Unlike the Haryana CM, the Delhi CM at least took out time to hear our grievance. I am hopeful that he would provide a time-bound solution."On August 21, the forest department said that certain patches of the land in question was categorised as "forest" and protected under the forest conservation Act of 1980.
