Life term for 3 in kidnapping case

A court in Sriganganagar today sentenced three youths to life imprisonment for kidnapping a boy for ransom. The trio was studying in local colleges at the time of the incident.Jagmeet Singh alias Jaggi was kidnapped on January 18, 2015, from the border village of Dullapur Keri located on Hindumalkot-Sriganganagar road. His father, Pehalwan Singh, received a phone call at 8.30 pm. The caller demanded Rs 5 lakh to free Jaggi. Pehalwan told the unidentified caller to contact him next day at 11 am to fix the place for giving the ransom. He later informed the police about the development.
Police teams fanned out to locate the victim and the suspect(s). Fearing arrest, the trio abandoned Jaggi near Bhardwaj Colony in Sriganganagar on January 19. A woman spotted Jaggi and escorted him to the police station in Meera Chowk. He knew one of the accused, who belonged to the same village.
The police soon arrested Tarsem Singh and Davinder Singh. Pankaj Jat was nabbed later.
