It's bad news for fans of Lucifer - or Lucifans - FOX has cancelled the show.
The US broadcaster hadn't made an annoucemnent for quite a while but now it's been confirmed that the show is ending.
There's been a huge outcry from fans who've demanded the programme be saved from the axe.
Taking to Twitter, lead star Tom Ellis posted: "It has been the most amazing experience over the past 3 years playing Lucifer and falling in love with you, the fans. It fills me with great sadness to confirm the rumours that some of you have been asking. Fox has indeed cancelled #lucifer I’m so sorry guys. #gutted."While actress Rachael Harris added: "'For now its up to networks on whether to listen to the tweets of fans across the globe, providing Lucifer with an extra pair of wings to fly out of the purgatory it has been sent to. It seems that Hell is nothing compared to the wrath of Lucifans.’ You have no idea. #SaveLucifer."
Previously, FOX CEO Dana Weldman recently said of Lucifer's future: “It's a little bit early to be talking about that, we're very happy with the creative right now.”
Despite a drop in ratings, the American network gave season three the go-ahead.But a recommission for a fourth outing will depend on whether the show can get the viewing figures.
Season three of Lucifer is the longest to date, comprising of 24 episodes which is nearly double that of the first run.

When will Lucifer season 4 be released?
The premiere dates for Lucifer have varied considerably from January to September to October.
Season three debuted in the US on October 2, 2017, so potentially the fourth run could be airing this autumn if FOX confirms a recommission.
The show is currently on a short hiatus due to the Winter Olympics and is set to be returning on February 27 to Amazon Prime.
If Lucifer does get the green light, it will be airing on FOX in the US before hitting screens on Amazon Prime for UK fans.

The cast of Lucifer season four will be dependant on how the third run wraps up.
British actor Tom Ellis will be returning as the title character and the Lord of Hell: Lucifer Morningstar.
Joining him most likely will be Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker, a member of the LAPD who is assisted by Lucifer in her investigations.
Also, reprising their role could be Kevin Alejandro as Dan Espinoza, another LAPD homicide detective and Chloe’s ex-husband.
D.B. Woodside is very likely to be coming back as Lucifer’s older brother Amenadiel, who was initially tasked by God to send his sibling back to hell. But he’s failed in his mission thus far.
Other cast members who could be back are Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie, Rachael Harris as Linda Martin, Tricia Helfer as Charlotte, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, and Tom Welling as Marcus Pierce.

Again, the plot of Lucifer season four will be determined by what happens in the latest run.
Fans of the show can probably expect more of the same from the show as Lucifer helps out in murder cases while running his nightclub and dealing with this far from straightforward family.
Lucifer is based on the DC Comics character of the same name, who got his own series of books after featuring in The Sandman.
