Pharma unit woman intern murdered in Barotiwala

Two women were brutally assaulted by a fellow trainee at their Jharmajri-based Hill View Apartment in the Barotiwala industrial area on Thursday morning around 4:50 am in which one of them was killed on the spot while another was grievously injured.Superintendent of Police, Baddi, Rani Bindu, informed that the accused, Akhil, and the two women—Aanchal and Manisha— were working as trainees in a local pharmaceutical company and staying in the rental accommodation provided by the company at Hill View Apartment at Jharmajri. She informed that both the women and the accused youth are 20 years old.
The accused gained entry into the flat when some girls from the group who were residing in that flat left for their morning shift around 5 am. Akhil was nursing a grudge with Aanchal as she had stopped communicating with him for the last about a month and a half. They had been friends for the last one year.
Akhil took Aanchal to the kitchen and sought to know why she had stopped communicating with him and in a fit of rage he slit her neck with a cutter which he was carrying. Her roommate Manisha Chandel heard her cries and rushed to the kitchen to rescue her friend, but she too was attacked by Akhil in the same manner.
Akhil then fled leaving both of them in a pool of blood. Manisha, however, managed to inform her acquaintance who called the police.
Aanchal died on the spot. Manisha, who hails from Dhabota in Nalagarh, was rushed to the local ESI Hospital, from where she was referred to PGI, Chandigarh, as she sustained serious injuries.
DSP Khajana Ram, who reached spot after the incident, said the accused, who resided in the same apartment, had been arrested and further investigations were under way.
A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against Akhil and the body of Aanchal was sent to the first referral unit at Nalagarh for a post-mortem examination.

- Akhil managed to gain entry to the girl’s flat and took Aanchal to the kitchen. He asked her the reason of stopping communication with him. In a fit of rage, he slit her neck with a cutter. Hearing her screams, Manisha Chandel rushed to the kitchen, but she was also attacked by Akhil.
- While Aanchal died on the spot, Manisha is under treatment at the PGI, Chandigarh.
