EXCLUSIVE: Surveen Chawla on her marriage: I found the right guy and I decided to get married
Actress Surveen Chawla surprised everyone when she suddenly announced that she is already married.
She had said that she purposefully did that to break the myth of married women in the entertainment industry. She believes that marital status of a woman can never affect her beauty and professionalism.
Today, when the actress was asked about the backlash she is receiving for hiding her marital status and how she secretly got married. She told PinkVilla, "I found the right guy and I decided to get married."
In an interview earlier, when Surveen Chawla was asked what made her keep the marriage as a secret affair, she had replied, "Well, I wanted to break the myth and I wanted to take time to be prepared about saying it. Being a part of this (entertainment) industry, we are conditioned in a certain way. Now you guys tell me, in two years when you people have seen me, have you find any difference?"
"I strongly believe that being married has nothing to do with my profession. It does not make me less beautiful, less charming or sexy. Being married does not make me a less artiste or a professional. I am an entertainer; I will entertain you, irrespective of my marital status. That should matter," she had added.
On the work front, Surveen Chawla will be seen in Ekta Kapoor's new web series titled Haq Se. Directed by Ken Ghosh, it also stars actors Rajeev Khandelwal, Rukhsar, Simon Singh, Pavail Gulati, and Aanchal Sharma.
