Two MBA students drown in sea off Kashid, locals rescue 4 others

PUNE: Tragedy returned to the beaches in the Konkan when two MBA students from a city-based private college drowned after they ventured into the sea off Kashid near Alibag , about 170km from here, on Sunday afternoon.They were a group of six students. Local people rescued five of them, including three female students.They were taken to a nearby hospital. One of the rescued collegians, Akshay Bhosale (23), died during treatment.The Murud police, with help from the Coast Guard, carried out a search on Sunday and Monday for Amol Nazare (23)."We could not trace him on Monday.
We will begin our search operations on Tuesday morning," Kishore Sale , assistant inspector of Murud police, said.The six students went to Kashid on Sunday for a day trip. It was not an official picnic. All six entered the sea around 3.30pm.
